Jesus saved me from eternal punishment, Tartarus - the deepest darkest gloom, reserved for the gravest of sinners, for those who rebelled against God long ago. There is no escape for those cast there for eternal judgement, there is no escape of light even, the abyss of old reserved for the fallen angels. But God saved me. Jesus saved me. As Peter was sinking into the abyss - Jesus reached out and pulled him up by the Hand. In the same way Jesus reached out and pulled me up -out of my sink. He lifted me out of Tarsus, and shone His eternal light (St Paul’s salvation). My chains fell away and I was lifted up. Where can I go from your Spirit, if I go up to the heavens you are there, if I go down to the depths of the earth you are there, if I am to the far corners of the sea - even there your hand will lift me up. Thank you for that, because if it didn’t I am doomed. If you didn’t come after me I would’ve been an unholy wretch -, cast out forever. PTL.
